What the Service is (and isn't)

AI Matters is a free, read-only publication. There are no user accounts, no logins, no payments, no subscriptions, and no facility for you to post or submit content. Nothing in these Terms should be read as offering any of those things.

Intellectual property & trademarks

The AI Matters name, logo, editorial selection, curation, and the presentation, design, and original written content of the Service belong to us and are protected by intellectual property law. You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works from the Service, or use the AI Matters name or branding, without our prior written consent.

This does not extend to the underlying news stories we link to and summarize. That content remains the property of the original publishers, and your rights in it are governed by their own terms.

Links to other websites

The Service is built around links to Third-Party Websites and news sources that we do not own or control. We are not responsible for, and these Terms do not cover, the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of any site you reach through AI Matters. We recommend reading the terms and privacy policy of any Third-Party Website you visit.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AI Matters will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service, including reliance on any content, summary, or linked story. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Dispute resolution

We aim to resolve any concern about the Service informally and in good faith before any formal dispute is pursued.

Severability and waiver

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision will not be considered a waiver of that right.

Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
