About

What this is

AI Matters is a brief of the six to eight AI stories that actually matter. Each pick gets a plain-language headline, a sentence or two on what happened, and a “why it matters” line on how it affects you, with the original source and title always linked. The brief refreshes through the day, every few hours, so whenever you stop by it reflects the latest news, not just the morning's, and stays in step with the firehose below: every story we pick up in the last 24 hours, searchable and filterable by category, for anyone who wants the wider feed rather than just the top picks.

How the brief is chosen

The same set of rules decides what makes the brief: stories that matter over stories that are merely loud, original sources over second-hand writeups, no hype, and no repeats of something already picked. Those rules were set by hand, and they stay the same from one refresh to the next and story to story. The picking then runs on its own, applying the same standard every time, so no one is re-deciding it.

The standard is human. The picking runs on its own.

Curator

AI Matters is curated by Parag T., who builds AI systems and teaches teams how to use them. He also runs an AI workflow workshop and writes a weekly newsletter on putting AI to work. AI Matters is that idea in practice: skip the hype, surface only what matters, and keep it to a couple of minutes a day.

Sources monitored

AI Matters monitors the labs and outlets that break AI news first: model releases and research posts straight from the source, plus the press that covers them closely.
